Design / Frodo

I joined Nexgear Technologies as Chief Creative Officer, a role that combined UI/UX design with Art Direction. As the company’s first product, FRODO presented unique challenges that required both strategic thinking and hands-on execution.

As the fourth hire in this early-stage startup, I took on multiple responsibilities beyond design, including photography, video editing, and social media content creation. As the company grew, I expanded the creative team by bringing on interns and a freelance designer to support Social Media Activations and Brand Development.

Branding

Part Tech. Part Adventure.

FRODO needed to carve out its place in a crowded market, striking the perfect balance between technology and adventure. It had to fit within this landscape while maintaining a distinct identity.

One of our key innovations was replacing the traditional passive Record icon with a "Shoot-to-Share" icon—reinforcing the idea that users were capturing moments with the intent to share them instantly. This approach redefined the recording experience, making it more purposeful and dynamic.

App Design

To complement FRODO’s seamless adventure-capturing experience, I designed the UI/UX for its companion app, ensuring effortless connectivity between the camera and smartphone.

The app allowed users to preview footage, access the Intelligent Editing Algorithm, and instantly create shareable videos—all within a clean, intuitive interface. Designed for ease of use on the go, the app streamlined the editing process, enabling travelers to relive and share their adventures with minimal effort.

Mockups

Press Kit

After establishing the brand identity, I created a press kit featuring high-quality product images for promotional use. Designed to maintain a consistent and professional visual standard, these images showcased FRODO’s sleek design and innovative features. The press kit became a key resource for media, influencers, and marketing campaigns, ensuring brand consistency across all promotional efforts.

Online Ad Campagins

As FRODO prepared for its showcase at CES 2016, I collaborated with the marketing manager to develop a targeted campaign and promotional ads. Our goal was to highlight FRODO’s innovative features and adventure-ready design, creating compelling visuals and messaging that captured the attention of attendees and potential investors.

Commercials

In collaboration with the marketing officer, I worked with adventure-focused social media influencers to create engaging content that showcased FRODO’s capabilities. Additionally, I filmed and edited two promotional videos, which were utilized across various marketing channels to enhance brand visibility and engagement.

Following a successful showcase at CES 2016 and a well-received Indiegogo campaign, FRODO generated strong interest and early traction. However, despite these achievements, the project was ultimately unable to transition into full-scale production.
