Microsoft

As a Senior Designer at Blast Radius, I spent a year working on the Microsoft account, contributing to various high-profile campaigns. I collaborated with external traditional agencies, pitching design concepts and developing creative assets. For each campaign, I was given creative freedom to design within Microsoft’s brand guidelines, ensuring consistency while bringing fresh visual approaches to the projects.

TechFTW

During my time at Blast Radius, I served as the Art Director for the TechFTW campaign, which aimed to inspire university students to pledge their involvement in the technology movement that would help pull the country out of the 2008 economic slump. The campaign designed for Facebook Pages, was to introduce students to three Microsoft programs targeted at their demographic: Microsoft Imagine Cup, Microsoft DreamSpark, and Microsoft Students to Business. To create a banner that students could rally behind, I designed a campaign that incorporated binary code as a hidden message spelling "TechFTW," adding an innovative touch to the overall design and resonating with the tech-savvy audience. I also designed t-shirts, stickers and downloadable wallpapers.

Imagine Cup

After the turbulence of 2008, Imagine Cup sought a redesign for its competition page. I designed a page inspired by technology’s signature cool blue tones, combined with a global perspective to encourage students to address real-world challenges through innovation.

Because it’s everybody’s business

It’s 2009 and for the Because It's Everybody's Business campaign, we collaborated with NYC agency JWT, which led the print and TV advertising with a distinctive illustrated style. I was tasked with redesigning the campaign’s landing page to align seamlessly with this visual approach. While the character illustrations were created by JWT, I adapted the overall design to maintain consistency with the broader campaign while ensuring an engaging digital experience.

Windows Phone

In 2009, Microsoft launched a series of banner ads to raise awareness of their Windows Phones, specifically highlighting the new features of their flagship devices. I was responsible for designing multiple banner ads that focused on showcasing these key features, creating engaging visuals that effectively communicated the unique capabilities of the Windows Phones to the target audience.

Windows 7 Social Media Aggregator

In preparation for the 2009 launch of Windows 7, I was tasked with designing a Silverlight-powered Social Media Aggregator. Drawing inspiration from platforms such as Twitter, Flickr, YouTube, and various blogs, the goal was to organize and display content according to themes and key features of Windows 7. The design aimed to create a cohesive, interactive experience that seamlessly integrated diverse social media content while aligning with the visual identity of the new operating system.

Internet Explorer 8

To celebrate the launch of Internet Explorer 8, Microsoft partnered with KINSA (Kid's Internet Safety Alliance), an organization that collaborates with Canadian law enforcement and global partners to train police in developing nations to help rescue child victims of abuse whose images are shared online. I was tasked with designing a landing page that highlighted the new security features of IE8. Additionally, I designed a Silverlight feature that aggregated "likes" from the IE8 Facebook page, with Microsoft pledging a donation for every like. The campaign was highly successful, raising significant funds for KINSA and bringing attention to internet safety for children.

Cloud Services

In 2010, I was tasked with pitching a landing page design for Microsoft Cloud Services. The concept focused on creating an informative and engaging platform, featuring company case studies and key insights to showcase the impact and capabilities of Microsoft’s cloud solutions.
